Hi Deb,I thought there would be some effect that did it automatically. But no. It's done the obvious but tedious way.Either isolate the bit you want to be coloured with the selection tool, invert the selection and turn down the saturation.Or, duplicate your picture so you have two layers, make the top one black and white, then erase bits to let the colout beneath show through.Use a feathered selection, or an eraser with a slightly soft edge to prevent jagged, unnatural lines.I use Paint Shop Pro 8, but I believe it would be done the same way in Photoshop or Gimp.It's a nice effect.

Thanks :)I don't have anything to make covers for. But I did make one for someone else a couple of days ago.I think they are using it as their avatar on AW!I just muck around with the art thing, really.
