Merlin.

5 Oct 2011

This is a carving of Merlin. I was in town yesterday, so I thought I'd take his photo.
He's pretty impressive in real life, but my photo don't really seem to do him justice.

He's about 10 foot tall and carved from oak, and he has a little dragon on his right arm, but that don't really show up.

It must have been a hell of a tree!

Anyway, as far as corporate art goes, this is a good one.

  1. What town is he in, Lydia? I bet it has some connection to him. He's an interesting character, have you ever written about him?

  2. Hi. He's in Carmarthen. I should have said, shouldn't I?

The town has huge connections with Merlin. The name is said (by some) to mean 'Merlin's castle', and Merlin's Hill is just up the road.
And of course he is mentioned in the Black Book of Carmarthen.

But I have never used him in a story. Perhaps one day.
Currently he seems a little over used, what with all the Arthur programs on TV.

  3. SEO goals and providing quality BACKLINS However this would probably not hold true for the vast majority of sites who do not have these vast quantities of backlinks. In these cases the on page optimization will still affect ranking and therefore still has to be taken care of.
